Hugh Nicoll
Hugh Nicoll is professor of English and American Studies at Miyazaki Kouritsu Daigaku and has been teaching in Japan for over 30 years. His primary research interests include literacy, literature studies, learner autonomy in language education, and critical pedagogy for social justice. Hugh has been active in the JALT Learner Development SIG since 1994.

宮崎公立大学国際文化学科教授（英米研究専門）で、日本での教授歴は３０年以上に及ぶ。主要な研究分野はリテラシー、文学研究、言語教育における学習者オートノミー、社会正義のための批判的教育研究。JALT学習者ディベロップメント研究会の活動には1994年から積極的に関わっている。
Joseph Tomei
Joseph Tomei is a professor in the Faculty of British and American Studies at Kumamoto Gakuen University. He has taught EFL in France, Spain, and Japan at the primary, secondary, and tertiary levels. In addition to his interest in classroom management and seminar teaching, he is also interested in computer-mediated communication, the application of functional/typological grammar to language teaching, practical activities in the language classroom, and writing instruction, especially the use of metaphor by EFL writers.
ジョセフ・トメイ
熊本学園大学外国語学部英米学科教授。フランス・スペイン・日本における小学校・中高等学校・大学での教授歴を持つ。主な研究分野は生徒指導とゼミ指導。その他の研究分野はコンピュータ利用コミュニケーション(CMC)、機能／構文文法の言語教育への応用、言語教室における実践的活動、作文指導（特に外国語としての英語学習者の隠喩の使用方法）。
Debra Occhi
Debra is Professor of Anthropology in the Faculty of International Liberal Arts, Miyazaki International College. Her research interests include the internationalization and globalization of Japanese tertiary education, cognitive and cultural linguistics, and the reworkings of ideology in contemporary Japanese popular culture (recently, in the realm of mascot characters).
